Our maritime hub and sustainable construction centre is located in Brunel Way, The Bridge, Dartford, Kent, DA1 5FW (Dartford Tunnel, Junction 1A, M25).
The centre provides office units, flexible tenancies, conference, training, and meeting room facilities, including networking and business support.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will be responsible for the building’s café facilities, helping to support the smooth running and daily management of our café areas
The preferred candidate needs to be flexible, enjoy working in a team, as well as be able to work under their own initiative and have excellent customer service skills
The General Catering Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all Catering areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard. They are also required to assist with the service of food and beverages throughout
Main Duties and Responsibilities
•Coordinate & Assist with the operation and day to day running of the Café.
•Ensure that customer’s expectations of food and service are consistently delivered in line with company standards
•Ensure all tasks are completed and delivered in accordance with company health, hygiene, quality, and safety standards
•Assist with the setting up of service counters, serving food and clearing down of areas within the kitchen, café, and outside areas
•Assist with the cleaning of all crockery, cutlery, and service utensils within the Kitchen
•Ensure the highest possible standards of presentation by ensuring that displays, fixtures, fittings, and premises are maintained in accordance with the cleaning schedule
•Contribute towards the delivery of hospitality and events meeting rooms etc. if any
•Deal with customer queries or requests in a polite and efficient manner, be friendly, engaging and have high customer awareness
•Present a smart, professional appearance and good personal hygiene always
•Maintain standards of safety and hygiene per legislation and other statutory requirements
•Attend meetings and training sessions if required
•Report any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss or damage and act as appropriately
•Carry out any reasonable request from any member of the Management team within the general scope and purpose of the job
•Awareness of Food Allergies, Special Diets and Labelling
•Assist with Managing stock levels and ordering supplies.
•Open and close the business
•Be reliable, great team player with excellent performance in customer service and organization skills
•Be able to communicate with confidence, with a good standard of English
•Have a great eye for detail and exemplary personal presentation
•Be able to adapt to quickly changing situations

•Show knowledge and some experience of hospitality
Knowledge and Experience
•Working within a customer focused environment
•Passion for working within the Catering and Hospitality industry
•Food hygiene Certificate Min level 2
