COMMERCE AND CARGOES -ENCOURAGING THE POSITIVE USAGE AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE RIVER THAMES

The River Thames is Britain’s commercial gateway to the world serving the largest consumer market in the UK and ensures that the country’s capital remains a flourishing business centre and tourist destination, protecting the city’s reputation around the world.

Its banks are home to the headquarters of the most important maritime organisations and the centre for ‘invisible’ trade, including 70 dedicated, specialised terminal and wharf operations, and the most diverse, successful, well-connected, well-equipped and service-oriented cluster of port facilities.

This meeting of the Thames and Channel, National Maritime Development Group has been designed to brief executives on the ‘river of opportunity’ that is generating substantial and ongoing investment.

We will hear from Chris Livett, Managing Director, Livett’s Launches and Waterman to H.M. The Queen, who will discuss how over the the past 30 years Livett’s Launches has encouraged the positive usage and development of the River Thames, whilst building an enviable reputation for operational excellence.

The morning will be spent onboard the Elizabethan, as we conduct a river tour of some of London’s major regeneration projects.
